Communication Science Study Program FISIP UNS aims to produce graduates who have competencies that are in accordance with the demands of the workforce in the field of communication and media. The profiles of graduates produced are: Communication Researcher, Communication Consultant, Journalist, TV Broadcaster, Radio Broadcaster, Public Relations Officer, and Advertising Planner.

Mastering the concepts and theories of Communication Science, which include interpersonal communication, group communication, organizational communication, mass communication, new media communication.

Mastering the concepts and procedures of conducting quantitative (survey, content analysis, experiment) and qualitative (field research and media text analysis) research in the field of communication science.

Mastering the concepts and procedures for preparing strategic plans in a communication program from situation analysis, goal formulation, determining communication strategies/tactics, program implementation and evaluation.

Journalism Specialization: Mastering the concepts and procedures of journalistic production of print and online media, including: interview techniques, news writing techniques, news editing techniques, and the publication process of print and online media, with knowledge of journalistic regulations and codes of ethics.

Public Relations Specialization: Mastering the concepts and procedures of managing a Public Relations activity in both the government and private sectors, which involves planning activities, program implementation, media relations, and evaluation of public relations programs, in accordance with public relations regulations and codes of ethics.

Advertising Specialization: Master the concepts and procedures of managing an advertising campaign, which involves knowledge of audience psychology, product knowledge, creative strategy, and media strategy, as well as regulations and codes of ethics in the field of advertising.

Video Specialization: Mastering the concepts and procedures of television program production involving knowledge of directing, camera work, lighting, production management of various news and non-news programs, and knowledge of television broadcasting regulations and codes of ethics.

Radio Specialization: Master the concepts and procedures of production of broadcast radio programs involving knowledge of directing, sound, production management (commercials, news, drama, music), and knowledge of radio broadcasting regulations and codes of ethics.
